Overview
Responsible for leading teams to deliver technical programmes and provide thought leadership, whilst cultivating robust internal and external relationships to ensure delivery meets expectations. This is a senior leadership position, overseeing strategic initiatives across multiple business verticals with direct visibility at the senior management level.
We are seeking a senior technology leader and subject matter expert with a proven track record of driving transformational change through cross-functional collaboration to deliver enhanced customer value across Commercial and New Payment Flows (CNPF).
This role is directly linked to critical business outcomes, including operational resilience, cyber security, automation, cloud deployment (private and public), and AI enablement, a significant and visible role responsible for driving measurable value.
As a member of the ONE Solution Delivery and Operational Resiliency team, the successful candidate will be accountable for delivering strategic initiatives across three business verticals within the CNPF unit, encompassing Operational Resilience, Cyber, Automation, Cloud design and deployment, and AI enablement. These initiatives are tracked at Senior Management level to ensure direct contribution to the business.
As a VP-level leader, the candidate must demonstrate accountability and inspire direct reports to achieve business outcomes in line with established timelines and budgets. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Platform teams is essential to influence business, product, and technology strategies. The role also requires conducting analysis to drive strategic technological improvements for business impact, optimisation, resilience, security, and scalability. Acts as a subject matter expert, leading the technical community to develop innovative solutions and advancements.
Requires exemplary communication skills and business acumen. Effectively communicates Mastercard's strategic vision for future business and technology architecture, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of major developments.
Role
Oversees the development and promotion of platform architecture and business processes to drive innovation in support of Mastercard's strategic objectives.
Leads and consults with application (Product and Engineering) leadership to enhance product quality and ensure alignment with architectural standards, security requirements, and strategic goals.
Champions improvement initiatives to identify automation opportunities and reduce deployment time.
Leads integration across multiple teams to execute strategies that grow the business and deliver superior solutions.
Partners with corporate security, architecture, database, and platform teams to ensure strict adherence to engineering standards.
Acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and programme groups, partnering with other leaders to resolve delivery issues and serving as the escalation point for infrastructure needs, thereby demonstrating the breadth of influence expected at VP level.
Builds and leverages partnerships, drives adoption of platform standards, and ensures compliance in business operations.
Oversees process improvement initiatives, identifying efficiencies and automation opportunities to accelerate deployment timelines.
Manages financial planning, forecasting, and budget tracking to optimise costs and allocate resources effectively.
Sets functional strategy, goals, and KPIs for teams to underpin the IT strategy.
Leads multiple teams, strengthens leadership accountability, and drives culture and talent planning to enhance people practices.
Responsible for fostering a work environment where teams are encouraged to share ideas, take calculated risks, and learn from mistakes, providing feedback and coaching to support career growth and continuous development.

Over 15 years' experience leading culture creation and team development.
More than 10 years' experience leading enterprise IT initiatives.
Demonstrated adaptive leadership skills to support high-performing teams.
Experience leading global teams and large-scale initiatives to drive business success.
A proven change agent, adept in the creation, measurement, and reporting of objective metrics and KPIs.
A track record of successfully leading delivery teams through complex implementations and periods of organisational change.
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into actionable solutions and recommendations for executive decision-making.
Demonstrated success in collaborating with peers across internal business organisations.
Proven ability to influence senior and executive management to deliver objectives and drive strategic initiatives.
Advanced knowledge of programme management, software development practices, and agile methodologies.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
Extensive experience conducting executive-level and critical conversations.
Proven leadership in delivering complex, cross-functional platform initiatives.
