This role is for an Vice President - Investments Business Data Analyst.

This role will interface with Asset Management Business, Technology & Change, Enterprise & Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Management and various Front Office functions in implementing the Investment Data Strategy.

The role is for Business Data Analysis Lead to work within the Investments Data Platform. The candidate should be able to interact with Senior and Middle management. Manage direct reports on both, delivery and people aspects.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Establish the appropriate data sourcing and provisioning capabilities to support the Investment process, our Clients and the Regulator.
• Work across the Investment Data Platform teams to ensure collaboration in delivering enhanced Investment Data platform capability.
• Interface with technical teams to translate business requirements to data requirements that can be consumed by the Data Platform. 
• Accountable for delivering significant portion of the Investment Data Platform capabilities, develop business processes and documentation.
• Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential data solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk.
• Manages conflicts that may impact delivery.
• Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture.
• Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output.
• Manages risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience.
• Delivers a significant portion of the Investment Data Quality, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise.
• To capture the requirements of the Investment Data Services Team in the implementation of the Data Ownership model and the Investment Business for Data quality
• To work with Investment Data Services to transition the components of the Investment Data Platform to an operational state.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Knowledge & Skills (Key):

• Excellent understanding of the Trade Lifecycle and Financial instruments (Transactions, Positions, Instrument T&Cs, etc.)
• Good exposure and knowledge of the Investments business including; Private Markets, ESG Sustainability, Risk & Performance, Investments Operations, Equities, Multi-Asset and Sustainability,  Public Fixed Income.
• Good exposure and knowledge of Agile software/data delivery practices. Including, effective utilisation of Stories, Acceptance Criteria and Testing.
• Ability to define and streamline business processes pertaining to data sourcing, transformation and quality.
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, within a project team or with stakeholders across levels.
• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and work efficiently to project deadlines.
• Ability to identify problems and have the drive to follow them through to resolution.
• Excellent understanding of Investment data sources, data definitions and  data transformation.
• Good understanding of Data Governance principles.

Knowledge & Skills (Desirable):

• Experience in embedding data quality, governance processes using relevant tooling.
• Experience in data transformation programmes.
• Experience in data visualisation using tools such as Power BI.

Experience:

• 14+ years of total experience with 11+ years of experience as Business Data analyst in the Asset Management, Investments domain/industry.
• Experience of managing colleagues on Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Technical Analysis.
• Experience of developing Business Analysis function & practices.
• Extreme hands on with data definitions and data transformation.
• Exposure to the cloud data tools.
• Experience in writing complex query SQL scripts.
• Experience with data quality tools.

Educational Qualification:

• Preferably should have CFA/MBA/Masters in Finance or a Graduate in a Financial discipline.
• Certification in ESG, Sustainability, Regulations in the UK & Europe region.
