ISS STOXX is actively looking for a Techno-functional Business Analyst – Reference Data Management to join our Data Management team in Mumbai (Goregaon East).
Overview:
Reference Data Management team drives a spectrum of activities related to data warehousing such as business analysis, exploratory data analysis, prototyping, relational data modeling, developing ETL logic, designing data systems, preparing requirement documents, ETL testing, data quality and metadata management, maintaining data lineage, and offering post-production support to data consumers. Together with Data Engineering team, the Reference Data Management team ensures accuracy, completeness and reliability of master and reference data warehouse that comprises of data about entities, financial instruments, ownership structure, fixed income securities, funds, market price and performance, company financials, company filings, corporate governance and numerous derived data items. This data is consumed by our client-facing data and analytics tools and research offerings.
Responsibilities:

Develop deep understanding of functional concepts in select data domains/sub-domains and related data systems, architecture, methodology, ETL logic, metadata, data quality and data lineage

Develop requirements document for various data warehousing projects by leveraging domain knowledge and by employing skills in exploratory data analysis, business analysis, system design, prototyping and technical writing

Develop tools, frameworks and scripts for data/ETL testing

Define and execute data/ETL testing strategy for each project while ensuring optimal test coverage

Analyze test results and drive resolution of issues

Own management of data quality, metadata and lineage in select domains

Offer post-production support to data consumers
Qualification:
-
B.E./B.Tech. or Bachelors/Masters in Information Science/Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Econometrics or an MCA or an equivalent 4-yr academic program well-grounded in concepts in computer science and numerical analysis

Good understanding of concepts in capital markets domain, preferably related to the data sets listed in the Overview section

3 to 4 years of experience in business analysis and/or ETL testing in capital markets domain

Experience of data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, visual analytics, and development of utilities, frameworks or tools using Python/R and SQL
-
Exposure to data provided by vendors such as Bloomberg, LSEG Group, Factset, S&P, Moody’s, MSCI, EDI, Morningstar, exchanges etc.

Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in global setting
-
Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment with little or no supervision
Good to have:
-
A post-graduate program in finance/capital markets domain or a CFA level 1
-
IIBA CBAP certification or equivalent
-
Certifications in data analytics/science, business intelligence, SQL
-
Experience in any of these areas – relational data modeling, data engineering and architecture, ETL development.
