About the role
We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer with strong experience in managing Linux-based systems and a deep understanding of networking, security, and server administration.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and software applications.
- Manage and maintain virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, etc.).
- Implement and maintain system security policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot system and network issues and ensure resolution in a timely manner.
- Perform routine audits of systems and software.
Desired skills & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role in a corporate environment.
- Strong proficiency in Linux command line, shell/python scripting.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices and tools (firewalls, SELinux).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as RHCE, LPIC, or CompTIA Linux+.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios).
