Summary:
The position will be part of the offshore Data Innovations Support and Operations team, which supports all data & analytics capabilities for Cencora Global Pharma Services. Leveraging your extensive reporting, analytics, and database experience, you will help to ensure the quality and accessibility of data and reporting for our clients. Leading and performing complex research/analysis in an evolving data/information environment, this role requires extensive technical troubleshooting skills, accountable for supporting the full lifecycle of data analytic activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide front-line support for Power BI dashboards, ensuring reliable access, accurate data, and consistent performance.
- Monitor overnight/weekend orchestration jobs to ensure successful data refreshes. Trace, identify, and troubleshoot failed pipelines.
- Analyze and resolve reporting issues, including broken visuals, incomplete datasets, inaccurate KPIs, and refresh failures.
- Use SQL to investigate data anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and validate report data against source systems.
- Monitor and support Power BI data refreshes and scheduled jobs, identifying failures and taking corrective action as needed.
- Support users with report access, navigation, and usage, and provide basic training to enhance their ability to self-serve insights.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to gather requirements for report enhancements or new report creation.
- Assist in maintaining documentation of report logic, data flows, source systems, and business rules.
- Work closely with data engineers to support the optimization of queries and data models used in reports and dashboards.
- Participate in quality assurance testing for new or updated Power BI reports and SQL views to ensure data accuracy and performance.
- Track and manage support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders.
- Help identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring report processes.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in reporting, data support, or business intelligence roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboards, datasets, and Power BI Service.
- Solid SQL skills with the ability to write, read, and debug complex queries across multiple database environments (e.g., SQL Server, Azure, Snowflake).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and troubleshoot reporting or data integrity issues.
- Familiarity with data pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory) and understanding of how upstream data impacts reports.
- Experience supporting report users and managing ticket-based support systems.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices in BI reporting.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Power BI report development, support, and administration (including datasets, dataflows, and RLS).
- Strong SQL skills, including data extraction and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools such as Azure Data Factory; ability to monitor and trace failed data jobs.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, ETL processes, and star/snowflake schemas.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with reporting performance troubleshooting and optimizing data models for efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, especially when resolving data discrepancies.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for data accuracy, integrity, and user satisfaction.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience leading the creation/support of data and analytic products.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages like Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or Qlik View/Qlik Sence.
- Proficient in writing SQL queries for different database environments like SQL Server, Azure, and Snowflake.
- Experience in PowerBI/ Tableau Reporting deployments, Tableau administration tasks, including backup and recovery, monitoring, and security a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis and research.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Azure Data Engineer with Azure Data Factory pipelines skills
- Job monitoring skills, ability to trace and identify failed pipelines
- Familiar with Data Storage, Databricks, and Pyspark
- Ability to understand and update complex SQL queries
- Must be able to manage multiple and changing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ensuring aggressive deadlines are met.
- Strong time management skills - able to prioritize, organize, and plan work effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both with business-facing and technical-facing colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
