Job Title: Staff Software Engineer
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Business & Team: Institutional banking and Markets & Risk and Regulatory
Impact &contribution: The Rex team is responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that support critical business functions. As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the technical evolution of our systems by contributing to end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery. You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from front-end development to backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
Roles & responsibilities:
You will be joining a high‑expectation environment where engineering excellence directly influences customer outcomes. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Chapter Lead, Product Owners, designers and engineers across multiple squads.
Our stack centres on full‑stack, Java, Next JS and AWS, and we’re increasingly embracing AI‑native engineering practices. Your leadership will help shape patterns, improve consistency, and accelerate delivery across the crew.
This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, works independently when needed, and enjoys guiding others through clear thinking, modern patterns and thoughtful use of AI.
Staff Software Engineer will work with our chapter lead, crew tech lead and/or other solution/ enterprise architectures and will be working in a team.
Focusing on the design and overall solution for development and deployment to our cloud infrastructure.
Will optimize solutions to simplify our technology landscape. Solve complex, technical challenges so crews can focus on business outcomes.
Utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes.
Promote best engineering principles and practices into project work
Essential skills:
12-14 years of experience delivering JAVA solutions in complex enterprise environments, ideally within banking or financial services.
Excellent knowledge of OOPS concepts and design patterns, SOLID principles.
Frontend: HTML5, CSS,Bootstrap and Javascript. Also, strong in one of the JS frameworks – React, TypeScript, NextJS. Preferably NextJS.
Backend: strong hands-on experience with Java, SpringBoot
APIs: REST, SOAP, OpenAPI Specs
Database: Oracle, SnowFlake
Cloud: AWS Mandatory
DevOps, CI/CD and Full Cycle Engineering: CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions.
IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Observability: Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus/Grafana, Observe, AWS CloudWatch.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
