The Staff Software Engineer will lead engineering efforts for Outreach's frontend applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring quality, performance, and scalability in web application development.
About the Team
On the Outreach Client Architecture (OrCA) Team, the goal is make it easy for experience teams to build and deliver high quality, delightful and consistent experiences. The team will ensure each experience is reliable, performant, accessible, instrumentable and scalable. The visibility of the work is immense. You’ll work closely with platform designers and platform product managers to shape the future of Outreach experience. You’ll have exposure to front-end application deployments and platform level capabilities. You’ll own the features from design to the implementation and will have plenty of opportunities to interact with other teams. You’ll be exposed to the cutting edge technologies as well as in micro service architecture at Outreach. We have plenty of tough challenges which require creative minds like yours to help us solve!
Your Daily Adventures Will Include
- Partnering with platform product managers, platform designers, and analysts to deeply understand the needs of our Outreach platform and build solutions that serves those needs
- Working with FE platform core like Design system and core packages that power Outreach experiences, pipelines, instrumentation and more.
- Setting direction for the team and help guide engineering vision
- Finding quick ways to prototype and test possible solutions to large problems
- Looking up and down the stack for the best return on investment for any given pain point
- Working on one of the most visible parts of Outreach’s product - to both our customers and the rest of our organization.
- Improving the team and company – you will be an active participant in our culture (mentorship, interviewing, and new initiatives)
- Owning relationships with other engineering teams and collaborate with other functions within Outreach
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Previous success developing and shipping large-scale web applications and skilled with web technologies including Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS, and React (or framework of your choice)
- Optional Exposure with cloud-based service applications and shipping production quality code in Java, Go or C++
- Familiarity working with build tools related to bundling, graphql, runners
- Proven track record of senior technical leadership at a company with a strong engineering culture
- Strong knowledge of shipping impactful and complex software projects
- Ability to set technical and cultural standards for engineers
