About the Role
As a Technical IT Program Manager, you will lead large-scale software engineering and digital platform initiatives that support automotive solutions and enterprise platforms. You will be responsible for driving program strategy, execution, and governance across cloud-native applications, platform engineering, and software development programs. This role requires deep technical expertise in software systems, along with the ability to align engineering execution with business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale, transformational software engineering programs across cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program governance, stakeholder communications, and executive-level reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and business teams to ensure software delivery aligns with strategic business goals.
- Manage program scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies across multiple concurrent software development initiatives.
- Drive the development and delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-quality software systems and platforms.
- Oversee system integration efforts involving microservices, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
- Champion the adoption of Agile, SAFe, and DevOps methodologies across engineering teams.
- Establish and monitor engineering delivery metrics, including velocity, quality, and release predictability, to measure program performance.
- Ensure compliance with software quality standards, security best practices, and SDLC governance
- You will report directly to the Director, Digital Strategy – Software Engineering.
What You Need to Be Successful
- 15+ years of experience in IT/software engineering, with 5+ years in program or portfolio management
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, and cloud-native architectures
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale software development or platform engineering programs
- Proficiency in Agile/SAFe methodologies, SDLC, and DevOps practices
- Experience managing distributed engineering teams in global delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage program financials, forecasting, and resource planning
Bonus Points if You Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or Agile certifications
- Experience in automotive software ecosystems (connected platforms, digital cockpits, or mobility solutions)
- Exposure to microservices architecture, APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
