Sr Software Engineer

What's the role?
As a Senior Software Engineer (Scala, Java, AWS, REST services), you will design and develop backend services that manage content infrastructure and repositories for state-of-the-art mapping technologies. Your responsibilities include:

• Participating in all stages of software development: refining product vision, gathering requirements, designing systems, coding, testing, releasing, and supporting.
• Building efficient, reusable, reliable, and scalable software aligned with quality standards.
• Implementing tools to enhance automated and semi-automated map data processing, including backend stacks and dashboards for data tracking and analysis.
• Applying and extending CI/CD tools and owning the full software stack, including DevOps and testing.
• Collaborating on architecture, design, code, and configuration reviews.
• Mentoring team members and providing technical expertise.
• Exploring new technologies and building POCs using open-source APIs.
• Working cross-functionally to identify opportunities and solve complex problems using backend development expertise.

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Geoinformatics.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Scala, REST-based web services, JSON, XML.
• Strong experience with AWS (SQS, EMR, SNS, Serverless), relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle), and Akka frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Git/Gerrit, JIRA, Wikis, and Linux/Unix.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication.
• Ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly.
• Comfortable working in a global team environment.
