Weatherford is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager – Well Completion Products to lead the Regional Development Engineering (RDE) team responsible for the design, development and lifecycle management of completion technologies including completions, liner hangers and cementation systems.
This role will oversee engineering activities across the WCP product portfolio, ensuring products meet Weatherford’s global standards for safety, quality and performance while supporting the development of new technologies and continuous improvement of existing products.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with global product line, operations and engineering teams to drive technology strategy, support field operations and ensure innovative solutions are delivered to meet evolving customer and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the regional engineering team responsible for WCP product design, development and lifecycle management
• Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering managers and project teams across multiple technologies
• Oversee the design, development and testing of completion products including completions, liner hangers and cementation systems
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, manufacturing drawings and validation documentation
• Plan and manage engineering projects including scope, objectives, resources, timelines and budgets
• Collaborate with global product line teams to develop and implement product and technology strategies
• Identify opportunities to improve product design, manufacturing processes and operational performance
• Analyse field performance of new products and support investigations into operational issues or failure reports
• Provide technical support to field operations and participate in customer technical reviews when required
• Ensure compliance with Weatherford quality systems, engineering procedures and applicable industry standards (API / ISO)
• Recruit, mentor and develop engineering personnel in collaboration with HR
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement across engineering activities
Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred); advanced degree advantageous
• Minimum 18 years’ engineering experience in product design and development, ideally within oilfield services or industrial equipment manufacturing
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex technical projects
• Strong knowledge of well completion technologies, downhole tools or completion equipment
• Familiarity with API and ISO design standards
• Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Creo / Pro-E) and PLM systems such as Windchill
• Understanding of metallic and elastomer materials technology
• Strong technical problem-solving ability and analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage project schedules, budgets and engineering resources effectively
• Familiarity with intellectual property processes and engineering documentation management
• Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 25–50%) to support project activities, manufacturing sites or customer engagements
