The Sr Director of Finance & Tax will oversee Nium’s global financial close, technical accounting, financial reporting, tax, and financial audits. They will lead a team of finance professionals, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial practices. This role involves communicating financial performance to stakeholders and collaborating with other departments to drive strategic initiatives. Ultimately, the focus will be on optimizing financial performance and mitigating risks to ensure the organization's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the monthly financial close and consolidation for multiple entities around the world
- Reviewing and improving reconciliations between our systems and general ledger
- Process improvements and implementation of new tools
- Monthly close optimisation
- Coordination on the global financial audits
- Review technical accounting under IFRS and other statutory regulations
- Overseeing global tax team compliance and strategy
- Lead and coordinate various business initiatives alongside FP&A team
Requirements
- Tactical Requirements
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent
- Technically proficient in IFRS and consolidating global entities and currencies
- Experience building and optimizing automated finance processes using ERP, Procure to Pay, Expense Reimbursement, and other tools
- Understand reconciliation systems OR reconciliation process for large volume data sets
- Ability to understand and communicate monthly changes/nuances of three statement financial statements
- Experience with financial institutions or financial services sector
- Individual Requirements
- Total of 14+ Yrs experience with experience in managing teams and project management.
- Critical thinker, with the ability to solve complex problems within finance organization
- Operates with extremely high level of integrity
- Curiosity into Nium’s business model and the fintech sector
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Experience leading teams, building culture, and training up junior talent (we do check references)
- Strong command of the English language and an effective oral communicator
- Experience of working across different geographies and managing multi-geo, multi-level stakeholders.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and present interpretation of large volume and data sets
- Exposure and financial working on various legal entities (India, Singapore, UK, US )
- Track record of working well with other teams within finance (Tax, FP&A, Procurement, Treasury, Corporate Development etc.) and teams outside of finance (Operations, Legal etc.)
- Huge Plus
- Has led or been a key team member of a successful big four audit process
- Comes from a Fintech background, especially if from a payments background
- Experience with Netsuite, Zip, Mesh and other modern finance tools
