Our team develops tools, APIs, and AI models for geospatial analysts and data scientists, enabling them to leverage the latest research in spatial data science, AI and geospatial deep learning.
As a Data Scientist, you will develop deep learning models using libraries such as PyTorch and create APIs and tools for training and deploying them on satellite imagery. If you are passionate about deep learning applied to remote sensing and GIS, developing AI and deep learning models, and love maps or geospatial datasets/imagery, this is the place to be!
Responsibilities
- Develop deep learning-based models, tools and APIs for computer vision applied to geospatial datasets
- Perform comparative studies and benchmarking of various computer vision models, including foundation models for remote sensing and earth observation
- Acquire, curate, and pre/post-process data, and transform it into geospatial information for the training of deep learning models
- Develop novel training pipelines and model architectures to handle complex challenges in the remote sensing domain
- Create and fine-tune deep learning models, including large language models (LLMs) and large vision models, for geospatial AI tasks
- Write technical documentation and reports detailing project methodologies and results
- Develop AI agents and assistants for GIS tasks
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Python in data science and deep learning
- Self-learner with coursework in and extensive knowledge of machine learning and deep learning
- Solid grasp of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and Bayesian statistics
- Expertise in one or both of these areas:
- Finetuning transformer-based models for specific tasks
- Training open source / proprietary foundation models from the scratch
- PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, or related disciplines from IITs and other top-tier engineering colleges
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, design experiments, analyze results, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Existing work authorization for India
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience applying deep learning to satellite or medical imagery or geospatial datasets
- Experience working with and building AI solutions for different remote sensing data such as Sentinel, Landsat, MODIS, NAIP and MAXAR
