Role Overview:
SPRINT (Spread Products Investments in Technology) Strategic Venture Investor, Mumbai – responsible for sourcing, executing and managing principal venture investments.
SPRINT is the strategic partnership and venture investing arm of Citi’s Spread Products business. The team works with category-defining startups in the specialty lending, private credit, and real estate spaces, through direct equity investments and creative credit solutions. By sitting within Citi’s industry-leading Spread Products business, SPRINT provides unparalleled strategic value for its portfolio companies, through asset-based financing (e.g. warehouse lines, securitization), whole loan purchases (e.g. via flow agreements), and direct connectivity to private credit investors.
Responsibilities:
- Identify strategic venture investment opportunities for Citi’s Spread Products business
- Develop sourcing network for identifying and evaluating new opportunities, both externally and internally.
- Help to drive all aspects of venture investment transactions including due diligence, strategic analysis, financial analysis and modelling, deal structuring, deal negotiation, and deal documentation review.
- Develop and prepare investment materials that outline the strategic benefits of investment, investment terms, and other relevant information.
- Conduct portfolio management of existing investments, including support for governance, administration and portfolio lifecycle events.
- Drive strategic partnership opportunities with portfolio companies, delivering the full capabilities of the Spread Products business, and Citi’s broader platform.
Qualifications:
- 3-6 Years Experience in related roles: Investment Banking, Corporate Development, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Corporate Venture Capital, M&A legal, Strategy Consulting, or Fintech.
- Strong analytical skills, including modeling and interpreting financial reports.
- Exceptional networking skills and capacity to build a network of contacts in Fintech, Private Credit, and Venture Capital industry.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience - ideally in combined finance / technology disciplines
- MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred
