Software Engineer II

In this role you will:

• Automate Map Data Magic: Implement cutting-edge software tools to automate and streamline traffic data processing, both on the backend and through user-friendly dashboards.
• Be the Technical Guru: Lead the way in developing technically excellent and innovative solutions for traffic data processing, pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, constantly learning and adapting to new technologies and challenges.
• From Code to Deployment Ninja: CI/CD master: Be an expert in utilizing CI/CD tools to seamlessly move your code from development to production, ensuring flawless deployment.
• Full-stack ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for your entire software stack, encompassing DevOps and testing, for complete quality assurance.
• Team player extraordinaire: Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customers to identify critical needs, solve complex problems, and unlock new opportunities through your backend expertise.
• Unlock hidden potential: Become an expert in leveraging internal platform resources and APIs, maximizing their capabilities for efficient data processing.
• Build for the future: Develop software that is not only efficient and reliable but also reusable, ensuring sustainability and scalability for your company's growing needs

• You have 2+ years of software development experience, wielding Java or Scala like a pro.
• Data structures and messaging technologies are your playground, and frameworks are your tools of choice.
• You're a citizen of the cloud, fluent in RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, SOA, and microservices architectures.
• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) holds no secrets, and Docker is your trusted sidekick.
• CI/CD is your mantra, with GitLab your preferred language.
• You speak Linux/Unix fluently and can write shell scripts that would make the Terminator proud.
• Translating business needs into elegant, consistent software design is your superpower.
• You write clean, reusable, and reliable code because quality is in your DNA.
• Unit testing, performance testing, and building testable code are your hallmarks.

As a Software Engineer II in the Traffic team, you will work self-sustained in an agile team. Traffic services enable the creation of mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time. The Software Engineer will be a contributor on the team to deliver digital traffic data to major automakers, for e.g. BMWs, VWs, Audi, Daimler. You will work on a technology to collect and process road information from many sources, terabytes of data, including car sensors from millions of cars on the road. Our services convert this input into a digital map delivered back to the cars and used for navigation, driver assistance, and even autonomous driving.
