Software Engineer II

What's the role?
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Software Engineer II to develop and enhance Observables with richer and more accurate attributes. You will play a key role in designing and implementing algorithms to improve observability systems while contributing to the development of backend and dashboard components for data tracking and analysis.

• Design and develop new algorithms to enrich Observables with enhanced attributes for improved accuracy and insights.
• Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code with strong proficiency in Java, and a willingness to learn and use Scala.
• Build and optimize automated observability processing systems, integrating both backend services and dashboard components.
• Drive technical excellence by delivering innovative and scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Implement and extend CI/CD pipelines, ensuring full end-to-end ownership of the software stack, including DevOps and testing aspects.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and internal customers to identify opportunities, address critical needs, and solve complex backend challenges.
• Contribute to the development of software that is efficient, reusable, and reliable, following best practices in agile development, coding, and verification.
• Participate in an agile team, share knowledge, conduct code reviews, and maintain high coding standards.

Who are you?
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II with expertise in software design and development to enhance observability systems and build scalable, high-performance backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable software solutions for observability systems.
• Design and optimize distributed and scalable systems for enhanced performance and reliability.
• Write high-quality code in Java and/or Scala (2+ years of experience required).
• Work with Spring Boot, messaging technologies, and related frameworks (good to have).
• Develop and maintain REST-based web services with expertise in JSON, XML, SOA, and microservices architectures.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab/Jenkins, with strong expertise in Kubernetes and Kafka.
• Work with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, to deploy and manage scalable applications.
• Apply strong DBMS & SQL skills to design and optimize database interactions.
