Software Engineer – Device Drivers
Mid to Senior Level | Multiple Positions | Pune, India (Hybrid/Remote, in India )
The Software team at Ethernovia builds cutting-edge software systems tightly integrated with our hardware communication and acceleration solutions. We own the full stack — Software Modeling, Applications, SDK, Middleware, OS Kernel Drivers, Firmware, Compilers, Micro-code, Frameworks, Tools, Infrastructure, and Evaluation/Test Platforms — engineered for automotive-grade, safety-critical systems and qualified to the highest standards, including MISRA, AUTOSAR, and ASPICE.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for Ethernovia's networking devices software stack development, including kernel/user-mode device drivers, stack extensions, debug and test utilities, and automated unit/system testing. The drivers will integrate with the communication stack of a Linux and AUTOSAR stack, allowing user applications, middleware, and the operating system to take full advantage of the feature-rich hardware.
As part of the Software team, you will own the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of device drivers that roll into Ethernovia's SDK, built ground-up for safety-critical automotive applications. We build products with strict adherence to Functional Safety, and every team member is expected to embrace a culture of safety and engineering best practices.

Technical Qualifications- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Work experience:5+ years
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, and testing fundamentals.
- Proficient in C/C++; experience with Python is a plus.
- Experience with software device drivers, preferably for communication devices such as Ethernet.
- Deep understanding of operating systems, kernels, and platform/device drivers, preferably Linux, QNX, or a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
- Experience with integration and testing of operating system device driver interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, preferably communication devices.
- Experience with simulation and emulation platforms.
- GNU or similar compiler and debugging suite.
- Embedded programming experience with hardware buses such as I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB.
- Experience building automotive or other safety-critical systems using qualification methods/processes such as MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO 26262.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet MAC, PHY, Switching, TCP/IP, Security, SerDes, PCIe, NTB, and SR-IOV.
- Experience with video processing standards and protocols.
- Experience with code version control and review tools/processes such as Perforce/Git and Swarm.
- Experience with build systems such as Yocto.
- Experience with the AUTOSAR Communication Stack.
- Experience with high-performance drivers and test tools, preferably for networking and communications.
- Experience with virtualization and virtualized device drivers.
