Role Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer – Cloud Services to help build and operate highly available, scalable services that power UniFS-as-a-Service across AWS and Azure environments.
This role is ideal for software engineers with 3–5 years of hands-on experience building cloud-native applications who want to deepen their expertise in serverless architectures, distributed systems, and infrastructure-as-code.
You will contribute production-grade code, participate in feature development, and support cloud services running in customer and SaaS-hosted environments. This role focuses on execution excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement within Agile teams.
Level & Scope Definition
In this role, you will:
- Own delivery of well-defined features and service components within the Cloud Services platform.
- Contribute to design discussions and architecture decisions led by senior engineers.
- Independently implement, test, and deploy production-ready code.
- Participate in production support and incident analysis.
- Collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, Product Management, and Support teams.
- Operate within established architectural standards and security practices.
You will not be expected to:
- Lead large-scale architectural redesigns.
- Manage other engineers.
- Own long-term platform strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features for cloud-native services supporting UniFS.
- Develop Python-based serverless services using AWS and/or Azure technologies.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality production releases.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Docker and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Support deployment and troubleshooting of services in AWS and Azure environments.
- Investigate production incidents, assist in root cause analysis, and contribute to corrective actions.
- Implement secure coding practices for internet-facing services.
- Collaborate in Agile sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing Python applications in production.
- Experience building or maintaining cloud-native applications in AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with at least two of the following:
- AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
- Azure Container Apps, Blob Storage, CosmosDB, Service Bus
- Experience writing automated tests using pytest or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with RESTful API development (e.g., FastAPI or similar frameworks).
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with boto3 or Azure SDK for Python.
- Experience with Docker in CI/CD workflows.
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK, Bicep, Terraform, etc.).
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts (scalability, observability, resilience).
- Experience supporting production systems.
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience developing serverless architectures at scale.
- Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kinesis, Event Hub, SQS).
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments.
- AWS or Azure certification.
