Software Developer - Front End

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer - Front End to design, develop, and implement front-end solutions, including user interface interactions and visually effective user experiences. The successful candidate will translate technical system specifications into tested, maintainable applications while supporting the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement front-end code and user interface interactions.
  
• Create attractive, effective, and user-friendly interfaces.
  
• Translate technical system specifications into working and tested applications.
  
• Develop detailed programming specifications.
  
• Write and/or generate code for data-driven applications.
  
• Conduct unit testing and maintain application code.
  
• Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues arising during software operation.
  
• Provide technical assistance during implementation, conversion, and migration activities.
  
• Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  
• Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications.
  
• Work with structured methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
  
• Elicit and document requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  
• Participate in design walkthrough sessions with project teams.
  
• Provide post-implementation support and technical issue resolution.
  
• Create user and system documentation as required.
  

Required Qualifications

General Technical Experience

• Experience in programming and analysis.
  
• Experience supporting specialized software packages.
  
• Experience with structured development methodologies.
  
• Experience using object-oriented and/or third-generation development tools.
  
• Experience with application design, deployment, troubleshooting, and modern design patterns.
  
• Experience with relational and hierarchical databases.
  
• Experience using information retrieval packages and query languages.
  
• Experience with communication protocols.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.
  
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  

Front-End Development Experience

• Knowledge and experience coding and using artwork to deliver complete user interfaces.
  
• Experience creating web interfaces for large-scale websites and applications.
  
• Experience working with complex enterprise systems.
  
• Experience ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
  
• Experience with responsive frameworks and responsive web application development.
  
• Experience with social media APIs.
  
• Experience defining product strategy and roadmap.
  
• Experience working with third-party organizations on partnerships, licensing opportunities, beta programs, and pilot initiatives.
  

Java Knowledge and Experience (20%)

• 10+ years of demonstrated Java development experience.
  
• Experience with Java development IDE tools such as:
  
• Eclipse
  
• IBM RAD
  
• IBM RSA
  
• Experience with WebSphere v8.5 or higher.
  
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA.
  

Technical Skills (40%)

• Angular (5+ years)
  
• JavaScript (10+ years)
  
• TypeScript (5+ years)
  
• HTML5 and CSS (5+ years)
  
• Node.js ecosystem including NPM (5+ years)
  
• RxJS (5+ years)
  
• Bootstrap and jQuery (3+ years)

Database Knowledge and Experience (15%)

• 10+ years of experience with Oracle Database 11g or higher.

Accessibility Experience (15%)

• Experience with AODA and WCAG 2.0 AA compliance.
  
• Demonstrated experience implementing accessibility standards and requirements.

• Experience reviewing, analyzing, modifying, testing, and debugging installation scripts.
  

Work Arrangement

• 5 days onsite.
