Develop and reformulate skincare products from concept through commercialization. Design and interpret lab trials, stability and compatibility studies, troubleshoot formulations, select and source ingredients, maintain regulatory and quality documentation, and research emerging ingredients and formulation trends. The role requires hands-on cosmetic or personal care laboratory experience, collaboration with the founder, and full-time onsite work in Mumbai.

We’re looking for an R&D Associate who doesn’t just follow formulations — but questions them. Someone who enjoys the science and the messiness of building products from scratch: thinking with the founder, experimenting freely in the lab, and seeing formulations all the way through to production. You will be expected to take ownership of formulations, not just execute experiments. If you’ve worked in a cosmetic/skincare/haircare lab and often thought, “I’d do this differently,” this role is for you.
Please note this role requires prior hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation within skincare, haircare, or personal care labs.
- Directly work with the founder on new product development and reformulations.
- Design, execute, and interpret lab trials including stability testing, compatibility studies, and performance evaluations.
- Troubleshoot formulation challenges
- Handle end to end process from idea to commercialization
- Manage ingredient selection, sourcing inputs, and formulation documentation
- Maintain and organise technical documentation including COAs, MSDS, SOPs, and formulation dossiers in line with regulatory and quality requirements.
- Research about emerging ingredients, formulation technologies, and global trends, and bring those insights into product development.
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in a cosmetic or personal care lab (this is non-negotiable).
- Academic background in Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, Chemistry or related fields.
- Someone who understands ingredients and enjoys experimenting beyond what’s already proven.
- Comfortable moving between lab work and production realities, you don’t disappear once the formula is “done.”
- Highly organised, but not rigid. Curious, but not careless.
- Genuinely excited by clean, thoughtful skincare and sustainability, not just as buzzwords.
