About the role:
SailPoint is looking for a self-starting, detail-oriented, experienced Technical Writer to join our documentation team.
We create documentation that supports system administrators, implementers, and business users as they use SailPoint’s suite of products to discover, secure, and manage every type of identity. The scope of our documentation includes initial setup, system configuration, and day-to-day operations. We also contribute to overall product usability by developing and editing clear and succinct UI messages and labels.
As part of creating content, you will work with members of several other teams: Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI design, Professional Services, and Support. You will need to demonstrate initiative and be willing to dig for answers while cultivating these important relationships.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with other Tech Writers and Project Managers on scope, sizing, and priority of tasks to ensure timely delivery of all documentation products
Test documentation prior to publishing, and maintain it as needed
Meet the dynamic timelines of product documentation written for continuous deployment
Collaborate closely with other writers to edit shared content and integrate new content
Work with PM and beta customers on beta documentation and related enablement content
Requirements:
3+ years of professional writing experience, backed by a degree in English or a related field
Experience writing content for non-technical & technical audiences, such as IT administrators
Excellent collaboration & communication skills (both verbal and written)
Proven ability to research and experiment with unfamiliar subject matter
Ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Professional writing experience on a SaaS product
Familiarity with content strategy, SEO, and information architecture
Working in HTML (or other markup language) & .css for online delivery
Understanding of identity management, governance and compliance
Comfortable following Agile methodologies & using issue tracking tools

Integration & Contribution Days 31-60 Start Making Waves:- Begin contributing to documentation for active projects.- Take ownership of smaller documentation tasks and see them through to completion.- Actively participate in sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies.- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to gather information for your writing.
Ownership & Impact Days 61-90 Navigate with Confidence:- Take ownership of the documentation for a specific feature or component.- Proactively identify areas for documentation improvement and suggest solutions.- Begin to establish yourself as a subject matter expert in a particular area of our product.- Contribute to peer reviews and help to maintain the high quality of our documentation.
