Senior Storage, Backup & Automation Engineer

ISS STOXX is seeking a highly skilled Senior Storage, Backup & Automation Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team based out in Mumbai - Goregaon (E).

Overview:

This role is focused on the design, administration, automation, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise storage and backup platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong Linux engineering background, hands-on experience managing large-scale storage and backup environments, and a passion for automation, scripting, analytics, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for developing automated solutions, leveraging open-source tools, building predictive capacity models, analyzing performance trends, and improving operational efficiency across storage, NAS, S3 object storage, and backup infrastructures.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex infrastructure challenges, writing automation scripts, developing dashboards and reports, and driving continuous improvement through technology.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support enterprise storage, NAS, S3 object storage, and backup solutions.

• Develop automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, APIs, and configuration management tools.

• Build monitoring, reporting, and analytics solutions using open-source and commercial tools.

• Perform storage and backup capacity forecasting, trend analysis, and lifecycle planning.

• Analyze performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize infrastructure reliability and efficiency.

• Create dashboards, executive reports, documentation, and operational standards.

• Participate in project implementation, incident response, and on-call support.

• Availability to work occasional nights and weekends to deal with outages and maintenance windows.

Technologies:

• Pure Storage, Pure Flashablde, Nimble, MinIO, Cisco MDS and Dell PowerScale (Isilon).

• Rubrik Backup, RSC, Data Threat Analytics, Microsoft 365 and Cloud Backup.

• Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, VMware, AWS S3 and GCP.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience.

• 5+ years focused on storage, backup, or data protection technologies.

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.

• Advanced scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Experience building monitoring, reporting, and analytics solutions.

• Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, NFS, SMB, iSCSI, S3, and Fibre Channel technologies.

• Experience with capacity planning, forecasting, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

• Proven ability to analyze and optimize storage and backup performance.

• Experience integrating infrastructure platforms through APIs and automation frameworks.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
