Senior Specialist – SAP Finance and Controlling

Job Description

The SAP Senior Specialist is responsible for providing broad-based SAP functional and technical support to Organon Finance users, including the management of incidents, change requests, testing of development changes, and identifying areas of improvement to meet evolving business needs.

Primary areas of expertise include FI – G/L, Fixed Assets, as well as deep knowledge of Controlling, including Cost Centers, Project systems, WBS, Internal orders, and understanding of cost center allocations, settlement rules of internal and process orders and derivation rules in Profitability analysis within an S4 HANA environment. Knowledge of month end closing processes is crucial, and experience in Intercompany Management reporting, Advanced Financial Closing Cockpit is an added plus.

This is both a hands-on configuration and customer-facing role that requires a deep functional & configuration knowledge, as well as the key integration points with SD, MM. Candidate should ensure that the design of the S4 system will meet specifications and requirements of the Organization’s overall business needs.

The role will require liaison with other internal Technology team members and external support partners. Review of system changes and documentation, ensuring that they meet the Compliance requirements is a key part of this role.

Data analysis and strong XL skills are required, as well as an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Information Systems.
 

Required Experience
 

• 8-10 years relevant functional and technical experience in Account to Report area with a solid understanding of the Finance and Controlling modules of SAP and integration points with SD/MM. SAP S4/HANA Finance implementation and end user support experience preferred.

• Configuration knowledge in the areas noted above.

• Ability to work proactively with Business Owners / Users and Technology Team members to analyze, test, and implement SAP solutions to meet business requirements.

• Awareness of month end close processes to support the Finance and Controlling organizations.

• Strong Data analysis skills, with the ability to use advanced XL.

• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship skills along with high personal integrity, credibility, and energy.

• Results-orientation with the proven ability to develop, plan and implement them.
