Senior Solutions Engineer, India West

Milestone is looking for a highly skilled Senior Solutions Engineer to support our Presales team across the India West region. Based in Mumbai, you will serve as the technical expert for complex sales opportunities, working closely with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to design scalable video surveillance solutions and drive successful business outcomes.

This role combines technical consulting, solution architecture, and partner enablement. You will also mentor Solution Engineers, promote technical best practices, and contribute to the growth of our partner ecosystem across the territory.

This position is responsible for supporting Milestone's business across the India West region and any additional territories assigned by the Presales Manager or Sales Director.
As the Senior Solutions Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

Technical Presales & Solution Design

• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer requirements and business challenges.
• Design end-to-end video surveillance solutions and develop solution architectures for complex opportunities.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and solution workshops.
• Support the sales team during customer engagements by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.
• Prepare technical proposals, solution designs, project sizing, calculations, and responses to tenders and RFPs.

Customer & Partner Enablement

• Build trusted relationships with customers, distributors, system integrators, and channel partners.
• Conduct technical training, certification workshops, and enablement sessions to strengthen partner capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance throughout solution deployment planning and validation.
• Represent Milestone at customer events, exhibitions, and industry seminars.

Technical Mentorship

• Mentor and coach Solution Engineers by sharing technical knowledge, reviewing solution designs, and promoting best practices.
• Lead regional technical initiatives, including new technology adoption, technical enablement programs, and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Act as the escalation point for complex technical opportunities within the territory.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Professional Services, and Technical Support teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.
• Gather customer and partner feedback to support continuous product improvement.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, opportunity records, and knowledge repositories.

Planning & Administration

• Independently manage project priorities, travel schedules, customer engagements, and expense reporting.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Milestone's product portfolio to provide trusted technical advice.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in technical presales, solution engineering, systems engineering, or IT solutioning within the physical security or video surveillance industry.
• Strong understanding of IP video surveillance technologies, Video Management Systems (VMS), IP networking, storage, server infrastructure, and solution architecture.
• Solid technical background in IP networking, Linux, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
• Experience designing, sizing, and architecting enterprise video surveillance solutions. Working knowledge of leading IP camera manufacturers and enterprise compute and storage platforms.
• Experience working with system integrators, distributors, consultants, and enterprise customers.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and virtualization platforms.
• Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Microsoft (MCSE/MCITP), and Linux certifications are highly preferable.
• Excellent presentation, communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills.
• Self-driven, able to work independently, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel across the India West region as required.
