Senior Software Engineer

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.
Seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and modern UI frameworks like Angular or React, along with hands-on experience in DevOps practices. The ideal candidate is also proficient in using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and possesses strong prompting skills to enhance productivity and code quality.
In this role, you will:

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Job Expectations:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Build rich, responsive, and user-friendly front-end interfaces using Angular or React.
• Develop RESTful APIs, integrate with backend services, and ensure smooth end-to-end application flow.
• Work with JEE technologies for enterprise application components and integrations.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Ensure application security, performance tuning, and optimization across all layers.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Utilize AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Copilot Prompting) to accelerate development, write cleaner code, generate test cases, and support documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers.
