Our Edge Security Technology squad builds, runs and enhances the edge security products and services that protect the CBA Group's internet facing websites, web applications, APIs and perimeter infrastructure from distributed denial of service, web application & API cyberattacks.

The Senior Platform Engineer in Cyber will be reporting directly to an Engineering Chapter Lead working in our cyber engineering team to ensure the scalability, reliability and security of our platforms.
Your work will involve the delivery of complex security initiatives across the group’s platforms and systems. Our mandate is to protect the business’ platforms, systems, data, digital assets, and reputation across our cloud and datacentre infrastructure.
We also support the group in developing innovative and market-leading offerings, which are underpinned by security, privacy, and trust.
Roles & Responsibilities: -
Bring excellent coding, debugging and troubleshooting skills in Python API development & Terraform.
Exposure to automating Cloudflare, Akamai, or equivalent DDoS, WAF, and CDN technologies is preferred.
Work well in teams and have strong collaboration skills in driving continuous improved initiatives
Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and best practices
Take ownership of issues and follow through with end-to-end resolution of issues
Have a true DevSecOps mindset and approach. You build it, you secure it, you test it, and you run it
Have natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence various stakeholder groups
Knowledge on cloud, especially AWS, is an added advantage
Have a great understanding of software delivery practices and lifecycles in Agile methodologies
Tech skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team
8-12 Years of IT Experience
Demonstrated experience developing applications using modern programming languages and frameworks, including Python, and Terraform.
Experience with Infrastructure as code and automating manual tasks
AWS or Azure
Mentoring and coaching capabilities, able to influence practices and mindsets in the crew
CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Artifactory
Logging & monitoring: CloudWatch, Observe, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus knowledge are desirable
Automating repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, PowerShell etc.
Any automation testing experience is highly desirable
Education Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
