Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems. As a senior member of our engineering team, you will drive the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions. You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and play a key role in shaping our technical direction. You should have strong hands-on experience in Vue.js, .NET, Java, AWS and SQL.
Shift - General
Responsibilities:

• Development of new software features and improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers in clearly understand the product value.
• Implement robust, scalable, high-quality software solutions and ensure their timely delivery.
• Participate in architectural decisions, design discussions, and provide input on software development methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Practice and teach pragmatic value-driven decision making when bringing in new tools, upgrades to libraries vs providing product value.

• Mentor junior engineers on the team, providing guidance and feedback on their code and designs.
• Mentor and apply the importance of code reviews, thorough logging, and monitoring to ensure that the software code meets the industry standards of coding and is optimized for performance and scalability.
• Support and pair with other internal teams at Morningstar to onboard them to the Intelligence Engine Platform.
• Compose and maintain comprehensive and high-quality documents on building and operating the platform.
• Create user-friendly documentation that aids our users in understanding and interacting effectively with our platform.

Requirements:

• 4 -6 years of expertized experience in JavaScript framework/libraries - Vue.js, OOJS, HTML, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, Cross Browser Compatibility, Responsive Designs, Single Page Application (SPA)
• Strong knowledge of databases and hands-on experience in any of the following databases - MS SQL, Dynamo DB, PostgreSQL, .
• Expert in building RESTful WS.
• Experience on Java and .Net technologies with exposure to the following frameworks - MVC etc.
• Expert in building using Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, code quality analysis
• Experience with application scaffolding tools, automation & development tools, and dependency management (e.g. NPM, Grunt)
• Expert in Software Security, static code analysis, and preventing vulnerabilities
• Expert in analysis, design, coding, and implementation of large-scale, n-tier Java and .NET-based platforms.
• Expert in OOPs, Design Patterns, Development standards, and best practices
• Knowledge of Cloud Computing AWS
• Be aware of activity in the open source world. Contributing back to open source is a big plus.
• Participation in full life-cycle system development with teams of developers, analysts, and testers.
• Experience with modern development practices through AI in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation & Unit Testing in a product development environment.
• Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
