Position Title: Senior Software Engineer
The Area: Morningstar® Data for equities provides comprehensive coverage of global stock markets from as early as 1975. We are continuously broadening our coverage and creating new products to help clients prepare for regulatory changes and other industry shifts. Our data features proprietary statistics and is developed using stringent quality screens to ensure accuracy. From APIs to data feeds, our solutions are delivered quickly to help institutions meet a broad range of functions.
The Role: In this role, you will collaborate with team leader, scrum Master, data analysts, and developers to build technology solutions for Morningstar`s Equity applications.
Technical stack: React, TypeScript

• Designing features and application pages based on provided wireframes and requirements
• Developing components for further usage across the application.
• Participating in regular sync meetings with team members.
• Estimating assignments and creating decomposition for them.
• Investigating technical solutions to improve and optimize existing functionality.

Code Development and Maintenance

• Write high-quality, testable, and well-structured code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Make significant optimizations to key product components.
• Document software functionality and share flowcharts, design diagrams, and artifacts with stakeholders.
• Collaborate within and across teams to meet sprint goals.
• Teach, mentor, and provide technical advice to team members.
• Encourage open discussions to address concerns and build team alignment.
• Assist in cost, benefit, and risk analysis for potential solutions.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in design patterns, microservices/microfrontends(MFE), distributed systems, and heterogeneous system design.
• Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and sophisticated system designs.
• Advanced configuration and extension of frameworks, including APIs.
• Proficient in CSS methodologies, Component-Driven Development (CDD), and JavaScript.
• Monitors TC39 proposals and adapts JavaScript styles accordingly.
• Expertise in functional, system, and end-to-end testing strategies.
• Experience adapting testing strategies for different environments and use cases.
• Proficient in container orchestration and troubleshooting tools.
• Skilled in analyzing browser profiler reports and diagnosing web app issues.
• Advanced user of collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.
• Creates custom macros to optimize workflows.
• Prepares clear, concise, and professional materials for diverse purposes.
• Visualizes ideas and solutions effectively using tools like Lucidchart
• Actively seeks opportunities to develop expertise and learn new skills.
• Adopts practical approaches to test and refine methods.
• Continuously improves processes to enhance efficiency and performance.

Requirements: These are the most important skills, qualities, etc. that we'd like for this role

• 5+ years of experience in front-end development.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.
• Strong knowledge Npm and modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
• Analytical and abstract thinking, ability to communicate with abstractions.
• Problem solving skills.
