Senior Software Engineer

As Morningstar's ESG center of excellence we are responsible for driving both the commercial success and innovation of its ESG products as well as its overall ESG strategy.
In these times, we rely on virtual team meetings and management practices, as well as a remote buddy program, to support a smooth integration in our virtual offices. New team members are onboarded and start their first day with the company from the safety of their homes.
The Role:
As a .NET Software Developer, you will use your experience in full stack software development to implement complex solutions, improve existing features and code maintainability, and deliver digital products needed to access most of our core research and data products. You will be working together with a team of talented and results oriented individuals and take part in the constant development and improvement of our digital products.
Job Responsibilities

• Deliver complex and high-quality software solutions integrated with the existing products, in an agile environment.

• Collaborate with the QA team and product management team to achieve and extend the overall vision of the product.

• Build well designed, well-engineered, stable, scalable features.

• Implement solutions based on requirements in an estimated timeframe and promote usability best practices.

• Implement unit and integration tests.

• Solve reported issues.

• Stay up to date on emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience with .NET or other software frameworks, database domain models, n-layered design, OOP.

• 2+ years' experience with Angular 2+ and/or TypeScript, or other JavaScript frameworks.

• Working experience with GIT.

• Preferable experience with MongoDB.

• Working experience debugging unfamiliar code.

• Understanding of software solutions performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Working experience writing code per coding standards.

• Understanding of concepts like design patterns and threading.

• Knowledge of basic Linux commands is a plus.

• Experience with basic AWS services (S3, EC2, SNS/SQS) is a plus.

• Good communication skills, being comfortable asking for help or additional information when is the case.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile methodology and tools like Jira would be a plus.

• Positive attitude towards solving problems.
