At R3, you will be a Software Engineer with a product mindset, building platforms for today’s world financial system. You’ll be part of our multidisciplinary engineering team, where you will build end to end deployable distributed services, and work closely with Principal Engineer, Product managers, Solutions Architect, and Application Engineers.
You will be responsible for building large scale distributed systems and architecture for our platform. The platform spans over multiple services/microservices & networks which run on fully container orchestrated environments. You will be playing a key role in building the product that is innovating financial technology products for large economies. We aim to have a fast, agile and automated product engineering philosophy that will provide safe and secure
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the product and technical roadmap aligning to customer & stakeholder needs plus feedback and build trust with them.
- Ship changes to our platform within the first week by taking complete ownership around end-to-end quality and performance.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers within the team and organisation by developing technical plans and contributing to technical architecture with a scale to serve millions of users.
- Improve your team’s performance by mentoring and guiding fellow engineers. This is your chance to be integral part of building a high performant team.
- Write Java/Kotlin code, which knits together with IaC(Infrastructure as Code) that form’s the core of our platform.
- You will be responsible for independently delivering medium to large sized pieces of software to a production standard.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering role, preferably building a SaaS or Platform product in an Agile environment.
- Experience collaborating effectively in a cross-disciplinary team setup interacting directly with Product Managers, Solutions Architect and Application Engineers.
- Depth of expertise in high level programming languages (Java/Kotlin/Python etc.) with hands on experience in managing infrastructure, containerization & deployments.
- Experience in developing Distributed Systems and Microapps/Microservices.
- Experience owning delivery of software increments, end to end by writing tests. Managing performance of the product adhering to Service Level Objectives by continuous testing and tracking key metrics.
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Helm, Terraform or alternative solutions.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts & Kubernetes networking.
- Experience building Identity and Access Management solutions (prior exposure to Keycloak & OpenPolicyAgent) will have brownie points.
