Senior Software Engineer - Python

Convo is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Python with 6+ years of backend engineering experience to build scalable and secure backend services, Studio workflows, MCP servers, APIs, and multi-tenant platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, microservices, REST APIs, cloud technologies, API security, authentication/authorization, and automated testing, with experience building reliable production-grade systems.

Build the Studio backend, outbound data contracts, MCP servers and secure monetization services for multi-tenant applications and partner access.

• Design and implement Python/FastAPI microservices for Studio and marketplace workflows.

• Expose versioned REST and MCP interfaces over approved data and agent capabilities.

• Implement outbound contracts for data products, events, cached views and partner integrations.

• Build token/usage metering, rate limits, quotas and auditable consumption records.

• Implement authentication, authorization, tenant isolation and secure partner/API access.

• Add automated contract, security, integration and operational tests with complete service telemetry.

• Minimum experience: 6+ years in backend engineering, including 3+ years with cloud microservices, secure APIs or multi-tenant platforms.

• Advanced Python and production FastAPI service development.

• REST API design plus practical knowledge of MCP servers and structured tool interfaces.

• Cloud microservices, containerization and distributed-service reliability patterns.

• Multi-tenant security, identity integration and fine-grained authorization.

• API versioning, schema contracts, rate limiting and backward compatibility.

• Automated testing, observability and operational ownership of backend services.

• Usage/token metering, billing events or API monetization platforms.

• Event streaming, data-product delivery and partner gateways.

• OAuth2/OIDC, service-to-service identity and policy enforcement.

• Production Studio backend services and documented APIs.

• MCP server implementations and outbound contract catalogue.

• Metering, quota and audit mechanisms with reconciliation tests.

• Security tests, dashboards, runbooks and contractor handover where applicable.

Works with Front-End Engineering, Pod 1 Agent Runtime, Pod 2 data products, Architecture Office and security/identity owners.
