Senior Software Engineer II 

About Our Team: 

This position involves performing complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line. You will provide direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodologies in the development of cross-functional software products. This role also includes mentoring team members and translating user and customer requests into solutions. 

About the Role: 

You will work on software design across multiple systems, mentor junior team members, and communicate with users and customers to understand their needs and translate those needs into solutions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. 

  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components. 

  • Complete complex bug fixes. 

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. 

  • Implement development processes, coding best practices, and conduct code reviews. 

  • Operate in various development environments (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) while collaborating with key stakeholders. 

  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. 

  • Provide training and mentorship to entry-level software engineers. 

  • Stay updated on new technological developments. 

  • Design and work with complex data models. 

  • Mentor less-experienced software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience 

  • Experience in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) 

  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages including optimization techniques 

  • Understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles 

  • Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems 

  • Experience with development languages such as Java/J2EE, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Rest APIs, AWS services, Spring 

  • Strong research skills 

  • Familiarity with industry best practices in development 

  • Experience with applicable tool sets 

  • Ability to interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements 

  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources 

  • Knowledge of test-driven development 

  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components 

  • Ability to complete complex bug fixes 

  • Good oral and written communication skills
