Senior Software Engineer / Associate Technical Lead - Oracle Apex

Based in Mumbai, Rave Technologies’ end to end product/application engineering services help address challenges in the product or application development life cycle. These services include Requirement Analysis, Software Architecture, Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance with specialized services in Cloud/SaaS Migration, Usability Engineering, System Architecture and Design, and Independent Testing solutions.

Role Summary:

Experienced hands-on Associate Technical Lead (ATL)/(SSE) – Oracle APEX – required for a Mumbai-based team working for a UK organisation.

The team is tasked with delivering new projects driven by customer requirements, AI-backed enhancements and modernisation of existing applications and products, alongside general support and maintenance within an Agile Scrum methodology.

The ATL – Oracle APEX will be responsible for the design of modules and complex solutions, hands-on development, technical guidance, code quality and unit-testing oversight for modern Oracle APEX enterprise web applications.

This role requires deep expertise in Oracle APEX and supporting web technologies, including PL/SQL, SQL, JavaScript, ORDS and REST.

The role includes evaluating solution options, documenting technical decisions, guiding engineers during implementation and contributing to architectural discussions with the Solution Architect.

Qualification Criteria/Work Experience

Essential:

• 6 to 12 years of overall software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on Oracle APEX development and technical leadership experience.
• Extensive experience in Oracle APEX development on version 4 or above.
• Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming skills, alongside strong knowledge of Oracle Database schemas, objects and data modelling.
• Strong understanding of application security, including Oracle APEX Authentication and Authorization, Session State Protection, secure coding practices and enterprise identity integration such as OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect.
• Strong front-end engineering experience including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design and accessibility principles.
• Proven ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable module or complex solution designs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ownership of complex technical issues through to conclusion.
• Strong capability in performance diagnosis and tuning using Oracle diagnostic tools such as Explain Plan and Trace.
• Demonstrated experience in design reviews, code reviews, implementation guidance and technical mentoring.
• Experience contributing to architectural decisions and escalating cross-product or strategic decisions appropriately.
• Clear communication skills and willingness to lead constructively within a Scrum team.
