About the Role As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the global Release Engineering team, you will be supporting application deployment activities CI/CD across all product teams at Morningstar. You will be responsible for executing product deployments, implementing common release procedures and improving processes for faster, more reliable deployments. You will work closely with application development teams to successfully release new software to clients, while being part of a culture of enablement and empowerment within the Release Engineering team, as well as the broader technology organization at Morningstar.
Job Responsibilities
- Proven Technical Experience in Jenkins Pipelines with CI/CD.
- Experience with enterprise grade CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Cloudbees CD & Harness.
- Should have good understanding of build tools like Maven, Gradle etc.
- Experience with Linux and Windows Shell, Python, Groovy Scripting.
- Experience with Containerization tools like Docker etc.
- Experience with AWS Lambda deployment pipelines. Well conversant with Devops
- Technologies like Artifact Repository Sonatype / Nexus, Source Control Bitbucket / GitHub, Code Quality SonarQube.
- Troubleshoot failures with respect to Docker, Amazon ECR etc.
- Provide reliable application deployment CI/CD support for all application development teams at Morningstar.
- Design, implement and maintain production-grade deployment pipelines in
- Jenkins/Cloudbees/Harness CD and other CI/CD tools.
- Troubleshoot CI/CD Pipeline failures, deployment process and system failures.
- Implement procedural and technical improvements to increase release reliability & scalability. Develop and apply sound DevOps processes in areas of continuous delivery that can be scaled throughout the enterprise.
- Provide guidance to junior team members.
- Provide release support on off-hours, when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with 5-6 years of relevant technical experience.
- Strong debugging and critical thinking skills.
- Solid communication and documentation skills.
- Strong Devops related tech Skills.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS or other Cloud Providers.
Nice to Have:
- Any AWS Certification is Bonus
- Certificate & Experience with K8 Kubernetes Clusters is Bonus
- Networking and infrastructure skills.
- Passion for staying current on trends and best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, Software
- Development Life Cycle & Release Management.
