Job Profile Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAP ICM Functional Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience within the Financial Services industry and demonstrate a strong understanding of SAP Incentive and Commission Management (ICM) functional processes, with the ability to read and debug ABAP code to support root-cause analysis and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
Deep functional expertise in Remuneration Type and Settlement Type determination is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex commission and incentive calculation issues.
This role requires excellent communication skills and working well in a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment.
Key responsibilities
- ICM Configuration & Design – Configure and maintain SAP ICM components, with particular focus on accurate Remuneration Type and Settlement Type determination, ensuring commission and incentive calculations align with business rules. Apply a good understanding of versioned customizing, calculation procedures, and condition records to maintain and troubleshoot ICM configuration effectively.
- Functional Analysis – Gather and translate business requirements from Sales, Finance, and Commission teams into functional specifications for SAP ICM solutions.
- Issue Diagnosis & Debugging – Read and debug ABAP code within ICM-related programs, BAdIs, and enhancements to identify root causes of calculation, settlement, or determination issues, and work with developers to implement fixes.
- Financial Industry Focus – Apply expertise in financial systems and related SAP modules (FI, CO, HR/PD-ORG) to support business processes and improve commission reporting, data processing, and analysis.
- Problem Solving – Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate discrepancies in remuneration and settlement outcomes, proposing practical and sustainable solutions.
- Testing and Quality Assurance – Conduct thorough functional testing, including Remuneration and Settlement Type scenarios, to validate configuration changes and custom developments.
- Documentation – Create comprehensive functional documentation, including configuration guides, process flows, test scripts, and user guides for ICM solutions.
- Solution Design – Work with technical teams to gather requirements, provide functional insight, and deliver solutions that meet business needs while aligning with SAP best practices.
- System Integration – Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure SAP ICM processes integrate seamlessly with other business applications and systems.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to optimize existing ICM configurations and processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Collaboration – Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to understand business needs and provide functional solutions.
- Mentoring – Guide junior consultants and provide expertise and leadership on key ICM projects.
Additional Job Description
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 8 years of experience as an SAP ICM Functional Consultant, with a focus on financial systems.
- Proven, hands-on expertise in Remuneration Type and Settlement Type determination within SAP ICM, including configuration and troubleshooting of related rules and processes. Good understanding of versioned customizing, calculation procedures, and condition records.
- Ability to read and debug ABAP code to diagnose issues and support developers in implementing solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to investigating and resolving complex commission and incentive calculation issues.
- Extensive functional experience in SAP ICM, with exposure to related modules such as FI/CO being highly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of SAP integration technologies (IDocs, RFC, OData and Web Services) as they relate to ICM data flows.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using agile methodologies for delivery.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Design Review – Review functional and technical designs for ICM developments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business requirements and best practices.
- Test Case Review – Review test cases and test scripts prepared by the team to ensure adequate coverage of Remuneration Type, Settlement Type, and other ICM scenarios.
- Production Support – Provide ongoing production support, including incident analysis and guidance on work requests raised by the business.
Master Data Queries – Respond to and resolve queries relating to ICM master data, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across commission and incentive processes).
