How You Will Contribute: 

Customer facing presales engineering representative focused on India Enterprise, Datacenter and ISP market.  Perform technical tasks, including assisting in written proposals, network design and engineering and quotes. Must be able to communicate solutions to customers and work with internal Ciena organization for both Ciena Software and Hardware Products to develop new features and functionality based on Customer needs.

  • Provide network and application engineering expertise for CIENA products.

  • Consult with customers to design and implement next-generation architectures tailored to their needs.

  • Develop comprehensive network designs and technical solutions aligned with customer applications and business drivers.

  • Utilize CIENA network design and modeling tools proficiently to deliver optimized solutions.

  • Prepare detailed quotations and support proposal development for optical transport and switching products.

  • Deliver product and technical expertise to support diverse Sales initiatives.

  • Create and present compelling design and application presentations for customers and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to address customer requirements and recommend product enhancements.

  • Oversee and mentor regional Sales Engineers, setting team goals and documenting processes and outcomes.

  • Facilitate customer transitions from end-of-life products to CIENA’s advanced IP, routing, and switching solutions.

  • Maintain proficiency in Siebel CRM for seamless management of sales processes.

  • 50%+ travel required to support customer engagement and project success. 

The Must Haves: 

  • • Technical expertise in data networking including understanding of IP , switching & routing, SD-WAN and other data networking protocols. CCNA certification is preferred.

  • • Technical expertise in designing IP / routing and switching networks for ISPs, Enterprise customers and Datacenter requirements.

  • • General technical knowledge of fiber optic transmission systems (especially DWDM), telecommunication networks and network management.

  • • Excellent verbal/written communications skills and presentation skills.

  • • Flexible, able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision

  • • Management/Decision-making/Problem-solving skills.

  • • Understanding of competitive sales environment.

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • • BE/ B.tech or equivalent with CCNA/other IP certifications

  • • 6 OR plus years telecommunication industry experience focusing on IP / Switching and routing

  • • Systems/Sales Engineering Background required.
