Role Overview:
Now we’re building a full AI-powered creation platform that supports them from the first spark of an idea to a finished, shareable piece of work. AI Chat is at the center of this transformation. It is the user’s conversational entry point—the place where ideas begin, where users can brainstorm, research, plan, write, and create across modalities.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead AI Chat into its next chapter: a deeply intelligent, multimodal, context-aware assistant that helps users think, create, and complete work across QuillBot.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for AI Chat as the primary entry point for creation and multimodal workflows across QuillBot.
- Drive the evolution of AI Chat into a context-aware assistant that understands user intent, history, and goals—and routes users to the right creation workflows.
- Partner closely with AI/ML, engineering, design, and research to deliver breakthrough conversational experiences across text, images, documents, and workflows.
- Shape the future of intent detection, memory, multimodal input/output, and smart routing across the platform.
- Lead experiments that increase the number of users who start creating via Chat, including homepage and dashboard initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally to unify Chat with all of our tools, including apps so users experience a single, cohesive creation journey.
- Use data, insights, and user research to drive decisions that balance delight, accuracy, speed, and value.
- Define success metrics and lead a pod toward meaningful user outcomes — depth of use, session success, retention, and cross-tool engagement.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership of conversational, AI-driven, or workflow-routing products.
- Experience building or scaling products that rely on LLMs, multimodal inputs/outputs, or intelligent automation.
- Deep empathy for user intent and behavior—you understand how people brainstorm, explore, and make progress through conversation.
- Proven ability to build products that serve as central experience layers (assistants, routers, hubs, search interfaces, chat surfaces).
- Strong instincts around UX for chat, including prompting, disambiguation, guidance, and user-controlled refinement.
- A track record of delivering consumer-facing creation or productivity experiences, especially those known for strong design or AI integration.
- Highly analytical and experimental mindset; comfortable running rapid A/B tests, funnel analysis, and behavior modeling.
- Ability to communicate clearly across engineering, design, AI research, marketing, and leadership.
What You Can Expect to Do in Your First 180 Days
First 30 Days — Learn & Align
- Deep-dive into AI Chat’s current architecture, usage patterns, and user segments.
- Understand QuillBot’s creation platform vision and how Chat serves as the starting point and a companion assistant along the entire journey.
- Build collaboration loops with AI/ML, Design, and product teams.
- Discuss success metrics and core behavioral shifts we want to drive.
30–90 Days — Define & Shape
- Build a roadmap for making Chat the most intuitive starting point for idea generation and content creation.
- Lead experiments across core QuillBot surfaces to influence user intent toward creation.
- Define requirements for key capabilities: multimodal inputs, user memory, smart routing, and contextual suggestions.
- Partner with design to prototype guided-chat experiences and task flows.
90–180 Days—Execute & Scale
- Launch and measure multimodal capabilities (PDFs, images, and documents) within AI Chat.
- Release enhanced intent detection and routing to other products.
- Improve depth and retention of Chat sessions via better guidance, history, and follow-ups.
- Drive measurable increases in users starting their workflows from Chat.
- Shape the conversational brain of a platform used by millions.
- Work across frontier AI technologies and help define how people create in the era of multimodal assistants.
- Collaborate with a team that blends AI research, user-centered design, and bold product thinking.

This role is eligible for hire in India.
We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States, Canada, India, Israel Germany, and the Netherlands. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered benefits, and other types of compensation.
