The Senior Producer will create and manage both long- and short-format sports content for TV and digital platforms, requiring scripting and collaboration with talent and crew.
Job Summary
The role of Senior Producer offers an excellent opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade in the sports broadcast industry. The Senior Producer will primarily be responsible for producing both long- and short-format content, as well as lead-up and surrounding shows for Linear TV and digital platforms. This will include scripting, pre-production, production, post-production and working closely with editors and internal as well as external talent. The role will involve working across multiple sports. It will also require scripting and translating scripts and graphics into Tamil from English and Hindi.
Also, based on the individual’s interest and learning, there will be opportunities to work on Tamil live broadcasts as and when such opportunities arise.
About the team
The Tamil Content Team was the first vernacular language team in the world of Indian sports which was started in 2017. The TV channels are well established in the Tamil market and have an extremely high penetration in excess of 80% in the market. 8+ years in the industry, the Tamil channel has gotten a lot of success but is at the same time looking to re-innovate and come up with new and fresh ideas to reimagine the channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high quality, creatively executed productions with effective shooting/editing/scripting
- Segments ideas for the show, treatments for segments
- Research on stories, and adequate communication of information to the show producer with suggestions on how the story is to be presented
Skills & Attributes for success
- Creative story ideation
- Basic post-production knowledge (Premiere Pro, FCP, After Effects, etc.)
- Strong language skills, including the ability to read and script in Tamil
- Experience working with cameramen, studio crew, video editors, and graphic artists
- Strong understanding of sports
- Understanding of documentaries, recorded shows, and game shows
- Good communication skills
Preferred Education & Experience
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in long-format original content and documentary production. Experience in general entertainment with sports knowledge would also be an added advantage
- Graduate or Postgraduate in any content or creative stream
