Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer (Identity & Access)

Technology Team is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

The Group Security (GS) team protects the Bank and our customers from cyber compromise, through proactive management of cyber security, privacy, and operational risk. Our team includes:

The Group Security Data Engineering team provides specialised data services and platforms for the CommBank group & is accountable for developing Group’s data strategy, data policy & standards, governance and set requirements for data enablers/tools. The team is also accountable to facilitate a community of practitioners to share best practice and build data talent and capabilities.
Impact & contribution:
The Engineer is an expert on the development and design approach Identity & Access Management controls and its patterns. They analyse business and IT needs and requirements to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations, processes and control management. This role liaises with business and technical stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organisation and to recommend solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its risk-buy down goals.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Identifying business needs and problems/issues , defining and developing a feasible solution scope.
- Providing advice and demonstrating deep understanding of the IAM controls suitable for the business and technical needs of an onboarding service and role maintenance across the IAM ecosystem.
- Designs solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements
- Writes code, configuration scripts and automated tests to implement the required functionality
- Reviews the design and code of other IAM engineers including peer reviews
- Builds and maintains the automated build and deployment pipelines for onboarding and role maintenance changes
- Analyses and identifies fixes for defects, environment, configuration and deployment issues across all phases in dev/production
- Follows release and change processes in the compilation and distribution of software builds and releases to development, test and production environments.
- Recognizes and removes technical debt such as sub-optimal code and configuration, repetitive, overly complex or otherwise poorly organized code
- Prepares and updates documentation including system manuals, deployment and configuration instructions, test scripts and user guides.
- Ensure smooth integration with solutions provided by other teams.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience with expert level knowledge.
- Must have at least three years engineer or development experience in an IAM setting
- Must have experience working with Sailpoint IIQ/CyberArk / Ping/ Dell One Identity Manager
- Must have experience onboarding/integrating enterprise applications with IAM Systems
- Must have strong stakeholder and customer engagement skills
- Experience with relevant languages, frameworks,libraries, tools and protocols
- Designs and codes proposed data conversions, data loads and data maintenance processes
- Advises and mentors Developers with development and tuning of SQL, TSQL and PL/SQL
- Experience with Agile practices such as SCRUM, and Kanban
- Relevant IT or business tertiary qualifications is desirable
Education Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
