Job Title: Senior Manager – Investments
Function: Asset Management

Role:
This is an opportunity to be a part of the Platform Strategies team that manages assets, investing in wide ranging platforms and assets. The fund’s objective is partnering with experienced management teams to build platforms capable of deploying significant capital from M&G funds and third-party investors. The mandate is geography as well as sector agnostic.
The functions of the team include originating the opportunities, evaluating the risks and returns through extensive due diligence, structuring the transaction, negotiating with the counterparties, obtaining approval through internal governance processes and executing the approved transactions.
The individual would have the opportunity to independently manage end-to-end lifecycle of investment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Origination of new opportunities: Actively support growth of existing partnerships in the region, including co-development of adjacent opportunities
- Evaluation of investment opportunities: Independently evaluate investment opportunities globally. As the transactions are in varied asset classes the candidate will need to have flexibility and intellectual rigour to evaluate such transactions. This includes,
1) Due diligence on the opportunity,
2) Supporting senior deal team members in the negotiations with the counterparties on commercial points,
3) Supporting senior deal team members in working on complex structuring to ensure the investment is done through most optimal route,
4) preparation of an investment memo and presenting to investment committee,
5) Manage the closing of transactions approved by the investment committee
- Investment Performance:
a. Independently provide active oversight on the performance of the investee companies including analysing regular reporting, providing insights and producing internal reporting
b. Build and maintain relationships with operating teams of the investee companies to ensure smoother flow of information
- Mentoring: junior members of the team
- Stakeholder Management
- Ensure understanding and adherence to M&G India’s Code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
7+ years of overall experience in relevant fields
Experience in investment analysis or a similar role. Experience working with investment banks and third-party due diligence providers
Understanding of the investment evaluation process for a large fund
Knowledge of various sectors and geographies
Understanding of various investment structures
Ability to build complex financial model
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Confidence & excellent communication
Good team player
Educational Qualification:
CFA/ Actuary/Chartered Accountant/ Cost Accountant/ MBA (Finance) or an equivalent degree
