Job responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Add to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages, including Java and Spring Boot
- Experienced in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their application in the financial services industry
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with cloud technologies, data analytics, and digital transformation initiatives
- Python proficiency is advantageous.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial services industry.
- Problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
