ISS STOXX is actively hiring a Senior SQL Developer with SSIS & Power BI for Mumbai (Goregaon East) location.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer with expertise in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), Power BI, and PostgreSQL to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing database solutions, creating and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and delivering impactful business intelligence and analytics solutions. You will work across SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments to transform data into meaningful insights using modern reporting and visualization tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including tables, views, stored procedures, and functions

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries across SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments

  • Build, enhance, and optimize robust ETL processes using SSIS to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple data sources

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver actionable business insights

  • Develop and manage Power BI semantic models, including relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX

  • Use Power Query to extract, transform, and shape data from SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other data sources

  • Publish, manage, and maintain reports and datasets in Power BI Service, including workspace management and scheduled data refreshes

  • Apply Power BI reporting best practices related to performance tuning, data modeling, row-level security, and user experience

  • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, partitioning, and efficient data model design in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business and reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data and BI solutions

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members on SQL, SSIS, PostgreSQL, and Power BI best practices

  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data engineering, analytics, Power BI, and open-source database technologies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Developer or Data Engineer

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL database development

  • Proven expertise in SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning

  • Extensive experience designing and maintaining SSIS ETL solutions

  • Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for enterprise reporting and analytics

  • Solid understanding of relational data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts

  • Proficiency in DAX for analytical calculations and Power Query for data transformation

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams

  • A passion for continuous learning and keeping up with modern data platforms and analytics technologies.
     

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI capabilities such as incremental refresh, composite models, and row-level security

  • Experience working with PostgreSQL features such as indexing strategies, query plans, and performance optimization

  • Understanding of Agile / Scrum software development methodologies

  • Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git, TFS)
