Purpose of role
This role strengthens the quality, consistency, and reliability of Dyson’s statutory reporting and financial close processes. As the business grows, the Senior Finance Manager ensures our accounting policies, reporting structures, and consolidation processes are executed with clarity, discipline, and sound judgement. The role suits someone who brings structure, analytical depth, and a high bar for reporting integrity across a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Policy & Reporting Governance
Maintain and refine the Group Statutory Accounting Policy to ensure consistent, IFRS‑aligned application globally.
Review and track policy exceptions, ensuring they are well‑justified, documented, and appropriately managed.
Partner with Shared Services and Markets to ensure reporting requirements and accounting interpretations are clearly understood and applied.
Support updates to reporting structures and the Chart of Accounts, ensuring stability, clarity, and appropriate mapping across systems.
Statutory Close & Consolidation Quality
Oversee quality of month‑end submissions and supporting documentation across entities.
Strengthen balance sheet quality through regular reviews, targeted deep dives, and timely clean‑up of ageing or judgemental balances.
Maintain clear reporting instructions, templates, and process documentation to promote consistency and reduce ambiguity across teams.
Support consolidation activities (translation, eliminations, statutory adjustments) to ensure strong alignment with Group policies.
Partner and project manage on SAP/S4, OneStream, and related system initiatives to ensure accounting logic and mapping are designed correctly and support accurate reporting outcomes.
Audit & Group Coordination
Support the Group and local statutory audits with well‑prepared analyses, reconciliations, and clear explanations.
Coordinate with Shared Services and Markets to ensure high quality financial processes for efficient execution of the audit
Address audit themes promptly and ensure learnings are applied consistently across the Group.
Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent) with 12+ years’ experience.
Strong technical grounding in IFRS/SFRS and complex accounting matters.
Solid experience in policy interpretation and implementation
Strong experience in driving financial process improvements, governance and financial systems implementation/ enhancement
Strong appreciation for reporting discipline, documentation quality, and data integrity.
Skilled at working with shared services and global stakeholders.
Clear communicator with the ability to simplify technical matters.
Structured, detail‑oriented, analytical, and proactive.
Desirable
Experience in multinational or matrix environments.
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and OneStream.
