  • Troubleshoot complex migration failures and develop appropriate remediation strategies.

  • Perform pre- and post-migration validation of content, permissions, metadata, links, access, and functionality.

  • Identify obsolete, redundant, unsupported, or unnecessary content and determine appropriate remediation rather than automatically carrying technical debt into the destination environment.

  • Develop repeatable migration processes and standards that can be reused for future migration initiatives.

  • Transition migrated environments into established SharePoint governance and lifecycle-management processes.

SharePoint Governance & Lifecycle Management

  • Establish and maintain enterprise SharePoint governance standards.

  • Establish processes for identifying and managing inactive, abandoned, and orphaned sites.

  • Support site expiration, archival, retention, and decommissioning processes.

  • Maintain appropriate controls for external and guest sharing.

  • Partner with Information Security on SharePoint security and data-protection requirements.

  • Partner with Identity & Access Management on SharePoint authentication, access, guest identity, and related access-management requirements.

  • Improve visibility into SharePoint ownership, usage, storage, health, and lifecycle.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce SharePoint technical debt and platform sprawl.

Advanced SharePoint Troubleshooting

  • Serve as an advanced engineering escalation point for complex SharePoint Online issues.

  • Troubleshoot complex permissions, authentication, access, sharing, configuration, content, and migration problems.

  • Investigate issues that cannot be effectively resolved through established frontline or second-level support processes.

  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent engineering solutions where possible.

  • Identify patterns across escalated incidents that indicate broader platform or governance problems.

  • Engage Microsoft and SharePoint technology vendors when vendor-level escalation is required.

  • Document solutions and transfer repeatable troubleshooting knowledge to appropriate support teams.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with enterprise SharePoint administration, configuration, governance, and lifecycle management.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing large-scale SharePoint migrations.

  • Experience with SharePoint Online tenant-to-tenant migrations or similar complex enterprise migration initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, sites, permissions, sharing, metadata, storage, and content structures.

  • Experience performing technical discovery and migration-readiness assessments.

  • Experience identifying migration dependencies, risks, technical debt, and remediation requirements.

  • Experience validating content, permissions, metadata, links, access, and functionality following migrations.

  • Strong PowerShell and PnP PowerShell scripting and automation skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft Graph, APIs, or other automation technologies for SharePoint administration.

  • Strong understanding of SharePoint security, permissions, guest access, and external sharing.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex SharePoint Online platform and migration issues.

  • Experience performing root-cause analysis and resolving complex technical problems.

  • Experience working with enterprise security, compliance, retention, and data-governance requirements.

  • Experience working within enterprise Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
