Sr. Director, Operational Excellence (GOC - India)

About the Role: This is a senior, strategic role focused on creating and managing the framework for operational excellence within the India GOC, specifically our Media Activation and Analytics Services divisions. You will be the central authority on process, quality, and efficiency, acting as a key partner to the GOC leadership and the various team leads. This role does not have direct line management of the delivery teams. Instead, your success will be measured by your ability to design and implement a world-class operating model that enables our teams to deliver high-quality work and supports the division's growth from 1,800 to nearly 3,000 people by the end of 2026.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Design the Operational Framework: You will be the architect of our operating model. This involves assessing our current ways of working and then designing, documenting, and implementing a standardised framework for everything from workflow management to quality control.
    • Govern and Improve Performance: You will own the key operational metrics (e.g., error rates, team utilisation, certification). You are responsible for monitoring performance against this framework, identifying areas for improvement, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the division.
    • Enable Scalable Growth: Create the processes and systems that will allow the division to scale effectively. You will partner with WPP India's Global Delivery Centre (GDC) to ensure our operational framework aligns with WPP's broader location and consolidation strategy.
    • Lead Operational Transformation: From a process-led perspective, you will spearhead the transition to an AI-augmented operational model, driving the deployment of globally built Agents and Automation solutions.
    • Partner with Team Leadership: You will work as a close partner to the GOC team leads. Your role is to provide them with the tools, data, and clear processes they need to manage their teams' performance effectively within the framework you have created. Equally, you will escalate to the GOC management if you feel that specific teams are not following the set processes.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
    • 15-20 years of professional experience with a deep specialisation in process design, governance, and operational excellence for large-scale service delivery teams.
    • Proven experience designing and implementing operational frameworks that have governed the performance of large-scale departments (1,000+ people).
    • A track record of creating scalable processes that have successfully supported a division's growth to over 2,500 people.
    • Demonstrable experience leading process transformation for major change initiatives, such as technology adoption or automation. A background in Lean/Six Sigma or similar methodologies is a strong advantage.
    • Experience in a large GCC or a similar global delivery environment in India is a firm requirement.
    • The ability to influence and lead through partnership and expertise, without direct managerial authority.
    • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field; an MBA is preferred.
