To ensure the CommSec achieves a sustainable competitive advantage through data engineering, you will play a key role in supporting and executing the CommSec's data strategy.
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Modernization Squad, which is part of the wider Technology Platform Crew. Bring your expertise in building scalable frameworks on cloud platform, with focus on automation and innovation.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Understand our customers' core business objectives and build end-to-end data centric solutions to address them.

Lead or participate in the definition, execution and communication of ETL strategy and technical solution.

Development of data staging, architecture, reporting and consuming internal and external application interfaces
-
Cooperate with business and operational users, other data management staff and infrastructure teams to ensure adherence to client and company guidelines, restrictions and requirements as well as industry standards.

Participate in the full lifecycle of agile projects (ideation through implementation)

Designs technical solutions and consumption patterns for business requirements with increasing complexity.

Produce high quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks

Essential Skills:
-
7+ years’ experience in design, ETL/ELT development using SSIS and exposure to AWS ETL tools.

Experience in traditional Data Warehousing, modern Data Lake design and development
-
Strong understanding of Star Schema and Kimball modelling
-
Hands on experience in relational, non-relational and semi-structured data experience in object data modelling
-
Experience in building data solution in native AWS cloud data services, Kafka and traditional MS SQL ETL tools.

Scripting and programming skills in PySpark, Scala or Python.

Experience in migrating SSRS/SSIS reports to Power BI, Tableau dashboards is a plus

Experience in designing, building, and delivering enterprise-wide data ingestion, data integration and data pipeline solutions using common programming language (Scala, PySpark or Python) in a Big Data and AWS cloud-based Data Warehouse platform.

Experience in working in Agile teams, including working closely with internal business stakeholders.

Amazon AWS Skills for Data, Streaming, Ingestion, and Transformation (experience level: 3-5 years) like Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, CloudFormation etc is a plus
Education Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
