This is a full-time night shift role, aligned with US hours (PST), as you'll be collaborating closely with our international teams.
About the Role/Specialty
We're looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to help scale and improve our accounting operations. You'll be hands-on in managing key accounting processes, supporting financial close, and driving efficiency through automation and continuous improvement.
This role is a great fit if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and love finding smarter ways to work. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening compliance, and introducing automation to streamline accounting processes.
What you'll do (responsibilities)

• Own key accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and global standards.
• Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
• Introduce automation, AI, and new technology to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Drive process improvements to make financial operations faster, smoother, and more scalable.
• Partner with teams across Canva to simplify financial processes, provide insights that drive better decision-making, and elevate financial understanding across the company.
• Support audits and regulatory requirements, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.
• Provide real-time support and collaboration with US-based teams, ensuring seamless accounting close processes across different time zones

What we're looking for
We're after a strategic, hands-on Senior Corporate Accountant who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves building scalable financial processes. You're a problem solver who embraces change, enjoys working cross-functionally, and is passionate about making complex things simple.
You'll be successful in this role if you have:

• Bring 5-8 years of experience in regional/global financial corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance-ideally in a high-growth or public company.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal control. CPA experience is a plus!
• A problem-solving mindset-you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy optimizing processes.
• Excellent communication skills-you can simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial teams.
• A passion for automation, technology, and improving workflows.
• Experience working with ERP systems (bonus points for NetSuite!).
• Are open to working night shifts Tuesday - Saturday 1:00AM - 10:00AM PH time to support our global operations.
