Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer specializing in data warehousing projects to ensure the quality and reliability of our data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ETL and ELT processes, big data technologies, and data modeling concepts. This role requires strong SQL and Python skills, experience with data testing tools, and the ability to translate complex data transformation rules into effective test cases.
Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for data warehousing projects, covering ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, and data quality.

Perform various types of testing, including functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing.1

Utilize data testing tools like QuerySurge and ICEDQ to automate data validation and reconciliation.

Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and compare data for testing purposes.

Develop Python scripts for data generation, test automation, and data analysis.

Analyze data transformation rules and data models (e.g., dimensional, star schema) to understand data flow and identify potential issues.

Create sample data for testing purposes, ensuring data accuracy and representativeness.

Collaborate with data engineers and developers to identify and resolve data quality issues.

Document test results and provide detailed reports on data quality and testing progress.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to QA best practices.

Contribute to the improvement of data quality processes and testing methodologies.

Stay up-to-date with the latest data warehousing and QA trends and technologies.

Required Skills:

7-10 years of experience in QA testing, with a focus on data warehousing projects.

Thorough understanding of ETL and ELT concepts and processes.

Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries for data manipulation and validation.

Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation and data analysis.

Hands-on experience with data testing tools like QuerySurge and ICEDQ.

Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling (dimensional, star schema), data integration, and data quality.

Ability to read and interpret data transformation rules and specifications.

Experience in creating sample data for testing purposes.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:
Engineer of any branch from tier 2 colleges or higher
or
Masters in Computer Science
