Pratham International is a US 501(c)(3) established to support learning innovations for children and youth in contexts across the globe. Pratham’s mission is supporting every child in school and learning well and equipping youth for their entry into the world of work and earning. Pratham Education Foundation has developed several innovative and evidence-based programs that are being implemented in India such as Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and Annual Status of Education Report (ASER). Pratham International enables the adaptation and spread of such proven and scalable solutions through programming and technical assistance tailored to local country contexts.
Role Purpose
The Senior Associate, Programs and Partnerships, will play a hands-on role in shaping and supporting Pratham’s global education initiatives across diverse geographies. This role sits at the intersection of program delivery, partnerships, and knowledge management, offering significant exposure to how international education programs are designed, adapted, and delivered in different contexts.
The Senior Associate will work closely with a diverse group of colleagues, partners, and stakeholders—ranging from grassroots practitioners to government officials and international development experts supporting high-quality program delivery and contributing to program improvements and decision-making.
The role includes independent ownership of specific country engagements, partnerships, projects, or internal workstreams, alongside supporting the broader Programs and Partnerships team. It is well-suited for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems in real time, and adapting to dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments. The role will involve extensive international travel to support program delivery and partner engagement (upto 40% of your time in certain months).
Major Roles and Responsibilities
Program Design, Implementation and Learning (30%)
- Support the design and adaptation of education programs (e.g., TaRL) across diverse contexts.
- Develop implementation plans, timelines, budgets, and relevant program materials.
- Track progress, identify challenges early, and actively contribute to problem-solving.
- Document program learnings and contribute to cross-country knowledge sharing.
Partnerships and Collaboration (20%)
- Manage day-to-day relationships with in-country partners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with NGOs, government partners, and other stakeholders to support implementation and/or support a senior Programs team member in doing so for key projects.
- Support onboarding of new partners, including alignment on goals, roles, and expectations.
- Ensure accountability on partner deliverables and timelines.
Coordination and Knowledge Management (30%)
- Coordinate across internal teams (Content & Training, Measurement, Operations, etc.) to keep projects or specific workstreams moving forward smoothly.
- Organise and facilitate trainings, workshops, and review meetings.
- Maintain structured documentation of program processes, outputs, and learnings.
- Contribute to strengthening internal systems for knowledge sharing and program tracking.
Fundraising and Donor Engagement (20%)
- Organise partner/donor visits as needed.
- Support development grant proposals, concept notes, and budgets.
- Support the preparation of high-quality donor reports and presentations.
- Research funding opportunities and contribute to pipeline development.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, International Development, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in education or development programs.
- Demonstrated experience in independently managing projects or workstreams.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including partners or government systems.
- Strong writing and analytical skills, especially for proposals and reports.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across geographies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Experience working with government stakeholders or large-scale education programs.
- Familiarity with foundational learning approaches such as TaRL.
- Experience contributing to grant proposals.
- Experience working in international or cross-cultural contexts.
- French or Spanish language skills

- Location: Based remotely in Delhi and Mumbai with periodic travels (Preferred to be in Delhi)
