Job Purpose
This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to private equity investment decisions within the Impact and Private Equity team. The role involves conducting in-depth financial and market analysis, preparing investment papers, supporting transaction execution, and monitoring portfolio performance.
The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience in growth equity or a related field, with exposure to investment banking or third-party due diligence. Strong financial acumen, communication skills, and a proactive mindset are essential, along with a degree in finance, engineering, statistics, or a related discipline—complemented by a master’s or CFA
Responsibilities:
- Investment opportunity analysis
Support seniors in the team for conducting initial opportunity analysis on private equity transactions to identify the opportunities for investment.
Help seniors to prepare due diligence questions
Participate in due diligence calls with advisors and management
Conduct macro-economic research and market research to deliver high quality analysis required for supporting investment decisions
Conduct financial analysis and prepare financial models of investment opportunities
- Presentation of the analysis
Help in preparing structure and story of investment papers and write detailed and high quality investment papers to present the analysis
Write detailed investment papers with clear explanation of the analysis and due diligence performed and the outcomes and recommendations on investment
Participate in committee discussions
- Investment closing process
Work with seniors and legal counsel to review the transaction documentation
Coordinate with business and internal teams for KYC, funding process, completing internal reports for funding which involves working with different teams
- Monitoring of the transaction
Monitor the performance of investments by preparing regular monitoring reports
Help seniors in the team to refresh valuation on regular intervals and prepare valuation memo’s
Participate in regular discussions with the company to understand performance
Key Stakeholder Management
Internal: Work with Assistant Vice President of Impact and Private Equity team in Mumbai to ensure delivery of right and required outcomes
External: Work with Global Catalyst and Impact and Private Equity Team to work with them on various investment opportunities
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of financial concepts, corporate finance and accounting.
Strong report writing and presentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft excel • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Strong sense of ownership and willingness and drive to take on new challenges.
Experience:
Experience of up to 2-3 years in growth equity investment analysis or a similar role preferably growth equity.
Experience of working with investment banks and third-party due diligence providers
Knowledge of various sectors and geographies
Educational Qualification:
Bachelors Degree in Finance/Engineering or Statistics
Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field OR CFA
