The Role:
This role sits within the Capital Valuation team in the wider M&G Model and Valuations team. The Capital Valuation Team focuses on the valuation of M&G Life business which includes with-profits, unit-linked, annuities, and equity release mortgages. This role requires to work under the direction of Qualified Actuaries or other senior team members and will include the opportunity to :
- Develop an understanding of features of Non-profit & With-profit products and their sensitivities to key risk drivers.
- Carry out various tasks for Capital Modelling and Reporting along with ad-hoc process improvements.
- Produce RSG (risk scenario generation) files and conduct stress and scenario testing.
- Maintain audit trails / version controls to demonstrate adequacy of spreadsheet controls for future enhancements to tools.
- Draft and maintain up-to-date, appropriate documentation and checklists for any processes that are implemented.
- Work with colleagues across other areas within Finance and Risk to support delivery of financial reporting in line with regulatory deadlines
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Responsible for learning and applying actuarial concepts to deliver accurate and timely work under guidance from experienced team members.
- Works within clearly defined processes and frameworks, seeking clarification when needed and following instructions carefully to ensure quality.
- Delivers assigned tasks and outputs as per given specifications, focusing on accuracy and attention to detail while developing problem-solving skills.
- Actively participates in team discussions and shares ideas, asking questions and suggesting improvements based on observations and newly acquired knowledge.

- Seek and act on opportunities to develop wider and deeper technical and business understanding of capital models.
- Build good working relationships with stakeholders in wider team and outside of the team.
- Maintaining effective communication with Stakeholders and leadership team members.
- Compliance – Ensure understanding and adherence to M&G’s Code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements.
